The road to Rome starts in Blackburn!
May 27th, 2009Did anyone else see the “news story” on BBC breakfast TV which featured a bunch of Manchester United fans setting off to Rome in a camper van???? You can imagine the bosses at the BBC sending out the camera crew to Manchester to find some fans and capture this story. At what point did that camera crew panic and end up in Blackburn to find some travelling fans!!!!!
Oh yeah, doesn’t Blackburn have it’s own Premier League team ![]()
Will Ferguson be Slaughtered?
May 24th, 2009Ahead of the game with Hull City, Man Utd plan to play a weakened team as part of their preparation for the Champions League Final. Obviously a controversial decision based on Hull needing a win to stay in the top flight. Which impacts on the other teams who could be relegated today (Newcastle, Middlesborough and Sunderland).
Furguson has realised that if Man Utd lose they will be accused of damaging the integrity of the Premier League. And made the following quote:
“If we don’t win on Sunday I will be slaughtered on Monday. It will be the worst thing that has ever happened to the British game”. See above link for source of the quote.
Interesting…… Lets see what happens.

Champions League final poll
May 20th, 2009Arsenal to force the Premier League into the final game?
May 14th, 2009Can Arsenal win at Old Trafford and force Man Utd to need a result on the last day of the season (assuming other results go the correct way)? Surely they will want revenge for the Champions League semi and want to prove a point.
Post match comment after the Champions League semi v Arsenal
May 6th, 2009Of course this will be biased…..
The pivotal moment was when Man Utd were 1-0 up on the day (2-0) on aggregate. Ronaldo dives and wins a free kick, John O’Shea pushes the end of the wall out of the way and Ronaldo scores a “wonder goal”. It’s all a cheat - but will you see an account of this in the press? I think not - please correct me if I’m wrong. At 1-0 down on the night Arsenal could have rallied and the result (especially with the home crowd still interested) could have been so different.
To cap it off I’m in the newsagents and I see a front page banner image on The Sun (I could be wrong to the newspaper as I cannot find it on their website, but it was one of the tabloids) of Ronaldo with arms out stretched (representing the Crucifixion) and the text “Cristiano Almighty” - an obvious reference to God or Jesus Christ status. This is just too bloody much! Religious heresy - comments please!!!!
I’m aware Man Utd fans feel aggrieved at the ref - but one player missing the final or all of them is the argument I’m putting up here.
As a foot note I read that an Arsenal fan took his own life after the match.
Light bulb joke
May 2nd, 2009Q. How many people does it take to change a light bulb at Old Trafford?
A. One person to change the light bulb, one person to tap irritatingly on a watch whilst chewing gum like a mad man, several thousand people to watch on in silence and several million people to bang on about how well the light bulb was changed and how no one else could do it as well as “their person” did despite not seeing the light bulb being changed.

Manchester United Fan Psychology
May 2nd, 2009Is supriority complex the reason so many people become a fan of Manchester United. Read the information in the link and make up your own mind. I’m no expert or student of psychology but I’d love to hear from such (via the comments) to provide an expert judgement.
