Patrice Evra has been charged with improper conduct for his role in the “battle of the bridge”. The Manchester United defender was involved in an altercation with Chelsea groundstaff after the April 26 clash. charge. He now faces an FA ban or could be fined if found guilty. I hope it is a ban because on his salary a fine will likely to be meaningless.
“There was a touch of controversy over United’s opening goal, seconds before the interval, as Rooney stumbled over Langfield when attempting to retrieve his own poor touch.” according to The Scotsman’s report of the preseason friendly between Aberdeen and Man Utd. New season same old Man United
I’ve tried to stay out of the Ronaldo transfer saga as it is boring!!!! This slave thing is particularly annoying me, coming from someone earning £120,000 per week (Man Utd geeks tell me if this figure is not correct) which is at least 4 or 5 times a normal working persons annual salary. I also assume he entered into his “slavery contract” of his own free will.
I’m not sufficiently knowledgeable to comment on the racist implications of this slavery comment, maybe someone could make a comment on this to explain, either from a Manchester United fans or other teams (especially Real Madrid fans).
It is somewhat similar to the Rooney sending off incident, when on International duty, where Ronaldo winked at Rooney, which must have led to poor for team morale, which I assume was sorted behind closed doors.
Much to my amusement I’ve found something, or more accurately someone that Manchester United fans hate - Paul Ince. Apparently it stems back to when he was playing for Liverpool and celebrated a goal against Man Utd (how dare he!). Enjoy these pictures
Paul Ince has been named Blackburn Rovers Manager. From previous data it is unlikely Ince’s team will beat Man Utd or indeed go on to win anything this season! It does restore the balance of former Reds managing Premiership League teams to four, following the relegation of Steve Cropell with Reading.
Interestingly the odds on Ince being the first ex red Premier League Manager to be sackedare 20/1 the same as the other ex red Hughes but better odds than Bruce and Keane at 12/1. However, Fergie is apparently safer than the lot of them at 25/1 but Scolari is safer still at 33/1!
Here are some interesting odds (correct at time of writing) for the upcoming season, obviously other bets are available, click on the advert picture below to qualify for a £20 matched bet for new customers of SkyBet and to place your bets.
