Hate Man Utd

Martin O’Neill says it is “universally accepted” that Nemanja Vidic should have been sent off in the opening minutes of the Carling Cup final.

Aston Villa win 0-1 at Old Trafford . Fergie then moans that there is a missing minute of added on time! Well lets add up all the extra, extra time over the years where Man Utd have scored to get a win or a draw, then this missing minute is of no consequence. Unless there was a deal to score in the missing minute……

Manchester United fans believe they are on for a sextuplet. Let me stress the point, they think they are on the verge of a 6 trophy haul, of the Charity Shield, World Club Championship, Carling Cup, FA Cup, Premiership and Champions League. Let’s nip this in the bud now!

 1. The Charity Shield must not count, how many teams fans can comment here when they have won 1 trophy (or more) in previous seasons and not declared a “double”, “treble” etc…. Please comment this is an important point if you hate Manchester United.

 2. The World Club Championship was a 6 horse race where Man Utd were entered at the last 4 stage. In principle it cannot count based on the quality of the opposition and the size of the tournament.

3. The Carling Cup (aka The League Cup) is a traditional part of the 4 trophies that would be included in the English League “Quadruple”. On this occasion Manchester United were let in at round earlier (ed - should read later) than some other Premiership teams. Akin to Formula 1 where the fastest car starts at the front of the race.

 4. The FA Cup. A tournament Manchester United have historically devalued by not participating in. I need say no more.

5. The Premiership. A straight race, should count. Come on Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa and any other team involved in the race for top spot or playing Man United…

6. The Champions League. Again a straight race, should count. Come on Inter Milan and others.

The effect on football’s future generation(s) is pending. Kids will see Man United win all six (sic) trophies and conclude there is no other team worth supporting. The death of football is waiting…. Register your disapproval here.

Ronaldo gestured to the Villa fans as he was substituted. I suspect he was arrogantly pointing out he believes he is the best player in the world. Here is a related story.

Vidic “challenged” Agbonlahor when he was through on goal, shirt pulling outside the box, arm around his upper body outside the box, tripped in side the box. It must have been a free kick minimum, if awarded that would have presumably been followed up by a booking or sending off. And it was a good call for a penalty…. Referee Chris Foy awarded nothing. Any comments?

With Villa on a high from beating Arsenal away, surely Man United at home is an easy fixture!
