5 minutes of injury time and Man Utd lose!
Yep hard to believe Liverpool 2-0 Man Utd and Liverpool score in the 5 mins of extra time. Did the ref get mixed up???? A great win in the Premier League game of the season. The build up was all about Liverpool’s poor run of form, Liverpool’s title race being over if the game is lost and Man Utd fans spoiling the game with Beachballs.
Trivia question: Why are tea and coffee not sold at Anfield in the stand above the Man Utd fans, for this fixture only? Answers via comments please, we will reveal the answer there later in the week….

Neither 5 mins nor 50 mank beachballs couldn’t save the scum. They were quite simply outplayed. I personally didn’t see any positive build up regarding Liverpool prior to the match. It was basically a formality that manu would take the points - & mostly the debates revolved around how many goals Liverpool would conceed in an emphatic manu win. Phil McNulty’s blog was very pro- manu (as always) dwelling on the dire consequences of anything other than a resounding Liverpool victory. I wonder if any of those Liverpool detractors enjoyed ketchup with their words on Sunday evening….

Ref must have been confused! Incidently it is the reason squad numbers were introduced, so fergie could offer a wider range of payment offers via the electronic substitution board. i.e. the higher the squad number being replaced and brought on the more extra time / bung, requested / offered.

Liverpool got a load of injury time the other day and no one made a fuss about that. The bigger teams do get more stoppage time, I don’t see you moaning about the other teams.

No-one made a fuss of the Anfield added time becuase it wasn’t given to Liverpool! Just another example of manu being given more help as usual (this time to no avail). The injury time at Anfield that ‘Liverpool got’ clearly wasn’t for them! Scum were pushing hard for the equaliser at that time, so if the ref was leaning towards Liverpool he would have blow fulltime immediately & there would have been nothing added - with the final score 1-0. This is exactly what happens at Old Trashyard, when Scum are winning there’s way less added time than when they are losing or drawing. Fact. Of course other big teams get more than average added time, they just don’t get anywhere near as much as manu. That’s why people rightly complain. See Guardian for details
