The Death of Football is pending!

Manchester United fans believe they are on for a sextuplet. Let me stress the point, they think they are on the verge of a 6 trophy haul, of the Charity Shield, World Club Championship, Carling Cup, FA Cup, Premiership and Champions League. Let’s nip this in the bud now!

 1. The Charity Shield must not count, how many teams fans can comment here when they have won 1 trophy (or more) in previous seasons and not declared a “double”, “treble” etc…. Please comment this is an important point if you hate Manchester United.

 2. The World Club Championship was a 6 horse race where Man Utd were entered at the last 4 stage. In principle it cannot count based on the quality of the opposition and the size of the tournament.

3. The Carling Cup (aka The League Cup) is a traditional part of the 4 trophies that would be included in the English League “Quadruple”. On this occasion Manchester United were let in at round earlier (ed - should read later) than some other Premiership teams. Akin to Formula 1 where the fastest car starts at the front of the race.

 4. The FA Cup. A tournament Manchester United have historically devalued by not participating in. I need say no more.

5. The Premiership. A straight race, should count. Come on Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa and any other team involved in the race for top spot or playing Man United…

6. The Champions League. Again a straight race, should count. Come on Inter Milan and others.

The effect on football’s future generation(s) is pending. Kids will see Man United win all six (sic) trophies and conclude there is no other team worth supporting. The death of football is waiting…. Register your disapproval here.

I am a Man United fan and I have to totally disagree with what you have said, proper Manchester United supporters who know the game do not believe that Manchester United will win all of these trophies, I certainly don’t I think we will win one more and that is the Premier League.

The charity shield is a trophy.. other teams treat this competition importantly, to say it does not count does them disrespect.. yet when united win it, it doesnt matter… make your mind up

so if england were in the world cup and faced korea, ghana and belgium, the world cup would not count? united had to win the european cup to get into the competition. no one complained in 1999 when they won the inter continental cup

let in earlier???? so they had to play a round more? stop talking rubbish

the f.a. forced united out of the fa cup so that they would win the world cup bid

    6. The Champions League. Again a straight race, should count. Come on Inter Milan and others.

    again.. boring jealous abuism… next

maybe you should learn about football before posting such banal garbage

all trophies that a club enters a competition for are worth something…

  5. Harry Redknapp Says:

Were you smoking something when this post was written ??

Michael shields, well done on sucha prestige achievement for Liverpool

Now should I start about Man Utd history ??? Jealousy gets you nowhere !, how managers have liverpool had ? in fact most clubs had ? Utd kept with one manager and look what he has achieved Fergie rules, is there any manager in the world that can compete with him ??

Question goes out ….ay ay ay and ay again !!

  6. Guus Hiddink Says:

United won the first Premier League title in 1993 and then carried on winning it with regularity, claiming 8 titles out of 11 up to 2003.

They also won the League Cup in 1992 and the FA Cup in 1994, 96, 99 and 2004, a remarkable run of success.

The pinacle of Ferguson’s reign came in 1999 when the club staged an amazing recovery to beat Bayern Munich 2-1 in the European Cup final. Injury time goals by Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solksjaer gave United their second European crown and also completed a unique treble of league, FA Cup and European Cup.

Latterly the clubs domestic dominance has been halted by the millionaires at Stamford Bridge and with concern among United’s huge fan base at the takeover by American tycoon Malcolm Glazer yet to be subdued the next few years in the life of the country’s most charismatic club could well prove to be the most dramatic in Manchester United History.

  7. Jose Mourinho Says:

I cannot wait until Fergie retires, I want his job!! screw chelsea!

  8. Eric Cantona Says:

The ferocious trapeze artist delicately auctioned off the flavorful mule souffle. Utd are a force and i am the light sabre. The mummified tourist carefully squeezed the hot, steaming slice of Bavarian goat cheese. Their history cannot be faltered, their players are far greater than other teams. The certifiably insane wandering minstrel tenderly kissed the slimy synthetic meat by-product. oo-la-la
